In "Aleppian Sufi Transe", Julien Jalal Eddine Weiss and the Al-Kindi Ensemble explore the sublime repertoire of the Sufi Qadiriya brotherhood. This unusual mingling of voice and strings (the scanning og God’s name, "Lafz al Jalal", the instrumentalists’ solos known as laqasim) adds voluptuous depth to the ecstatic chanting of Sheikh Habboush.

"Aleppian Sufi Transe" has been awarded a "Choc de la Musique" in the French magazine "Le Monde de la Musique".
